MAZZONE HOSPITALITY ANNOUNCES NEW CULINARY TEAM, REVITALIZED FOCUS AT APERITIVO BISTRO

Downtown Schenectady restaurant features newly designed menu highlighted by modern Italian cuisine and small plates 

SCHENECTADY, New York; – Mazzone Hospitality today announced that veteran Capital Region chef Frank Tardio will oversee culinary operations at Aperitivo Bistro, as the popular restaurant located in downtown Schenectady approaches its 10-year anniversary.

Under Tardio, Aperitivo Bistro will experience a revitalized focus on the restaurant’s original concept of modern Italian cuisine and small plates. The menu will be highlighted by seasonal and fresh dishes which offer a new interpretation on Italian culinary fare; as well as a distinct emphasis on Italian-style tapas and small plates designed for sharing.

Tardio will be joined in the kitchen by Chef de Cuisine Jose Cruz, who will bring to Aperitivo Bistro his extensive experience in a number of New York City restaurants, including Le Moulin a Café, Peels, and dell’anima. In addition to his role at Aperitivo Bistro, Tardio will continue to serve as executive chef of nearby Angelo’s Tavolo, located inside Glen Sanders Mansion in Scotia, NY.

The new fall dinner menu features a variety of modern Italian dishes, including: Burrata with Butternut Squash Puree, Orange Roasted Apples, Spiced Pepitas and Brown Sugar Bacon; Farfalle with Braised Lamb Ragu, Kalettes and Lemon Yogurt; and Baked Shrimp with Citrus Butter, Fregola and Pangrattato.

Aperitivo Bistro has also introduced a new brunch offering on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Highlights from the brunch menu include: Uova in Purgatorio featuring Baked Eggs, Pancetta, Tomatoes, Rosemary, Shallots, Pecorino and Baguette; Cinnamon Buns baked in a skillet and topped with Bourbon Apple Glaze and Walnuts; and an Open Face Chicken Fry Sandwich with Red Wine Onions and Parmigiano Gravy.

Aperitivo Bistro is located at 426 State Street in Schenectady. The restaurant is open for lunch Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; with dinner service beginning at 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
