IVING RESOURCES HONORS ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF CAPITAL REGION INDIVIDUALS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES DURING COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS CEREMONY

ALBANY, N.Y. – Living Resources today honored approximately 60 local individuals with intellectual and development disabilities for their accomplishments during its annual Community Achievement Awards ceremony at the Colonie Town Recreation Center in Albany, NY.

Officials from Living Resources gathered to recognize the accomplishments of individuals served by the non-profit organization’s numerous programs, including day opportunities, employment, clinical services, fine arts instruction, community service and education. Several members of the Living Resources staff were also honored during the ceremony.

The individuals recognized were honored for their leadership and mentoring skills, ability to overcome obstacles, and outstanding commitment to the community, amongst other attributes.

“Our Community Achievement Awards promote a sense of accomplishment and community contributions for our consumers,” said Living Resources CEO Fred Erlich. “By celebrating individuals with disabilities for their success, we demonstrate the highest standards Living Resources provides. Award winners will help to inspire others to contribute to the Capital Region.”

The non-profit organization is recognized as a leader in implementing cutting-edge programs and projects, including the Carriage House Arts Program; the College Experience Program in partnership with The College of Saint Rose; the Veterans Services Project; and the first barrier-free Smart House for residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York State.
