SYRACUSE, New York – Dunkin’ Donuts today announced it will partner with Make-A-Wish Central New York for the second year to celebrate World Wish Day, the day the organization was founded in Phoenix, Arizona, and to help make the wishes of local children come true.

From Tuesday, April 29 through Wednesday, May 7, guests who contribute $1 to the Make-A-Wish at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Central New York will receive a Make-A-Wish Star Donut. All proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Central New York. Last year, the campaign raised over $40,000 for the local chapter.

“Dunkin’ Donuts is honored to support Make-A-Wish Central New York works tirelessly to help make the wishes of local children come true,” said Eric Stensland, field marketing manager for Dunkin’ Donuts. “I encourage Central New York residents to enjoy a special treat while supporting an organization that is so important to our community.”

The star-shaped specialty donut is topped with blue and white icing in honor of Make-A-Wish will be available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Central New York beginning on April 29, World Wish Day.

“The wishes granted through this campaign will bring hope, strength and joy to local children with life-threatening medical conditions,” said Diane Kuppermann, president and CEO of the Make-A-Wish Central New York. “We encourage Central New York residents to visit Dunkin’ Donuts and enjoy a Make-A-Wish donut while helping us reach every eligible wish child in the region.”

Incorporated in 1985, Make-A-Wish Central New York is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to granting special wishes to children between the ages of 2½ and 18 who are living with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish Central New York has granted nearly 1,500 wishes since its inception. In granting a favorite wish, the foundation strives to provide the wish child and family with extra-special memories of joy and laughter.

Make-A-Wish® continues to “bring the magic of a wish” to special Central New York kids because of the generous support of the Central New York community throughout the 15-county region it serves. The counties being served are: Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins.
