SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Wesley Health Care Center was recently honored as a recipient of the Quality Award from IPRO, a national organization dedicated to providing a full spectrum of healthcare assessment and improvement services.

The award, given annually by IPRO, recognizes organizations and professionals that demonstrate a commitment to improving the quality of care provided to New York’s Medicare beneficiaries. IPRO is the Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) for New York State.

“We have always been committed to improving transitions of care, as a vast number of our residents and patients have their needs evolve as their health changes,” said Dutch Hayward, Administrator at The Wesley Health Care Center.  “By focusing on the transition and how it affects those who rely on Medicare, we provide families the comfort of knowing that their loved ones will receive the attention and care that they deserve. Because our community has so many different levels of care to accommodate changing health needs, easing the transition is one of our top goals.”

“These healthcare providers have demonstrated that, through their willingness to collaborate and make quality improvement an organizational priority, they can reduce rehospitalizations and help ensure that patients experience the best transitions of care, across all settings,” says Clare B. Bradley MD, MPH, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of IPRO.  “We applaud their achievements.”

The Wesley Health Care Center received the honor during IPRO’s 30th Annual Meeting, which took place on June 3 at the LaGuardia Marriott Hotel in East Elmhurst, NY.
