The Wesley Community appoints new board member

The Wesley Community today announced that Marianne Barker has been appointed to the Board of Directors of The Wesley Community in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

A longtime resident of Saratoga Springs, Barker is a respected business leader and the founder of Impressions of Saratoga and Dark Horse Mercantile, two downtown retail businesses that have contributed to the vitality of the Saratoga community for decades.

“We are pleased to welcome Marianne to The Wesley Community Board of Directors,” said J. Brian Nealon, CEO of The Wesley Community. “Her leadership skills and business acumen, as well as her passion for the Saratoga Springs community, will be invaluable to developing innovative ways to further Wesley’s growth as we approach our sixth decade of serving seniors.”

In addition to her extensive experience in business management, customer service, marketing and community engagement, Barker is a dedicated civic leader with a long history of volunteer service and board leadership. She has served as chair of Discover Saratoga as well as on boards of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, the Saratoga Springs City Center Authority and the Saratoga Springs Special Assessment District. Most recently, Barker served as a member of The Wesley Foundation 2026 Toasts and Tides Gala Committee.

Barker was recognized in 2025 as a New York State Senate Woman of Distinction recipient for her entrepreneurial success, civic leadership and longstanding commitment to the community.
