TALA AMERICAN BISTRO TO HOST PLUMPJACK WINERY DINNER PAIRING

ALBANY, N.Y. – Tala American Bistro will host a private wine-pairing dinner featuring selections from the high-end boutique purveyor PlumpJack Winery on Tuesday, January 19 at 6 p.m.

The five-course gourmet dinner is created by Tala American Bistro Executive Chef Derek Adams. Each course will be paired with a varietal from PlumpJack Winery, a boutique Napa Valley operation which primarily produces super premium Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines, in addition to smaller amounts of Merlot, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Sangiovese.

PlumpJack Winery Eastern Regional Manager Scot Gaffney, who is a certified specialist of wine by the Society of Wine Educators, will provide guests with detailed information on the wines presented during the dinner.

The five-course dinner with wine pairings will feature the following:

 

  • First Course:          Artisanal Greens, Gorgonzola Dolce, Pears, Walnuts, Dried Cranberries and Walnut Vinaigrette

 

  • Second Course:     Crab Cocktail, Cucumber, Radish, Mango, Jalapeno

 

  • Third Course:        Housemade Gnocchi, Italian Sausage, Red Onion, Spicy Tomato Sauce, Fennel, Burrata

 

  • Fourth Course:      Filet Mignon, Truffle & Herb Compound Butter, Beet Gratin, Asparagus

 

  • Fifth Course:         Housemade Grapefruit, Cherry and Currant Sorbet

PlumpJack Winery sits squarely in the heart of Napa Valley’s renowned Oakville region, surrounded by a 42-acre estate vineyard highly regarded for the quality of its Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2001 PlumpJack Cabernet Sauvignon was named 2004 Wine of the Year by Wine Enthusiast magazine. The 2002 and 2004 vintages of the PlumpJack Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve both received “extraordinary” wine ratings of 96-100 points from wine critic Robert Parker.

The PlumpJack Winery five-course gourmet dinner with wine pairings at Tala American Bistro is $100 per person (tax and gratuity not included).
