ALBANY, N.Y. – Dunkin’ today celebrated its collegiate name, image and likeness (NIL) partnership with Siena College basketball star Andrew Platek. Platek served guests at the Dunkin’ restaurant at 667 New Loudon Road in Latham by filling drive-thru orders and working the front counter in advance of Siena’s highly anticipated Gold Rush game against archrival Iona on Friday, Jan. 27.

Platek is a member of Team Dunkin’, the brand’s recruiting class of 31 exceptional student-athletes from colleges and universities nationwide. Team Dunkin’ athletes are being honored by having their favorite Dunkin’ drink featured at participating Dunkin’ locations in their college town, and Platek’s go-to Dunkin’ order is a small hot chocolate. To thank fans for their support, Platek handed out free hot chocolates to guests who visited the restaurant dressed in Siena green and gold.

Platek is a Guilderland, N.Y., native who transferred to Siena in 2021 after playing basketball for the University of North Carolina. Platek leads the team with 45 three-pointers this season and is averaging 10.4 points per game.

As part of Dunkin’s collegiate NIL partnerships, Platek and his fellow student-athletes, representing 13 teams from colleges and universities all over the country, will be sharing their experiences across social media and enjoying exclusive Team Dunkin’ merch to sport on and off the field.

Team Dunkin’s class of 2023 also includes upstate New York college sports stars Joseph Girard III of the Syracuse University Men’s Basketball Team; Julianna Beaulieu of the Utica University Women’s Soccer Team; and Anna Sprys of the Binghamton University Women’s Volleyball Team.

The newest Team Dunkin’ class has grown from the first two student-athletes announced in February 2022 to a roster of 31 student-athletes and counting, along with the entire women’s Northwestern University field hockey team.

These powerhouse athletes, like so many college students, run on Dunkin’, and Dunkin’ is here to energize a growing roster of students through wins, losses and the daily grind of being a college athlete. Follow Platek’s journey as a Team Dunkin’ athlete on Instagram at @platekfor3.
