NYRA PAYS TRIBUTE TO PUBLIC RELATIONS INDUSTRY LEADER ED LEWI

Campers and family members from the Double H Ranch join Executive Director Max Yurenda (fifth from right), New York Racing Association CEO and President Chris Kay (third from right), winning jockey Javier Castellano (second from right) and Ed Lewi Associates President Mark Bardack (far right) in the winner’s circle to present the trophy for the eighth race at Saratoga Race Course on Sunday, September 6 named in honor of Saratoga Springs civic and business leader Ed Lewi, who passed away at the age of 81 on Travers Day. The founder of the public relations firm which bears his name, Lewi helped contribute to today’s success and popularity of the Saratoga Race Course over a communications career that spanned more than six decades. Lewi was also a founding board member and honorary lifetime Vice Chairman for the Double H Ranch, the Lake Luzerne-based not-for-profit organization that provides specialized services for more than 2200 children and families dealing with life threatening illnesses each year. The eighth race at Saratoga Race Course was officially designated: Ed Lewi – A Wonderful Life.
