Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 440 East Sandford Boulevard in Mount Vernon on Friday, September 18, as part of its grand reopening celebration.
Dunkin’ franchisee TBG Food Acquisition Corp. commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon offers programs to help young people within the community learn and grow in a safe and fun environment.
“On behalf of the Boys & Girls Club, we sincerely thank TBG Food Acquisition Corp. and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for supporting the children of Mount Vernon,” said Boys & Girls Club of Mount Vernon CEO Melvin Campos. “These funds will be used specifically to provide kids within our programs a hot meal and a healthy snack.”
The event featured the first 100 people in line at 9 a.m. receiving a free medium Dunkin’ Hot or Iced Coffee for 100 consecutive days, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise and enjoyed music from a DJ.
New York State Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow; Mount Vernon Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard; and representatives on behalf of New York State Senator Jamaal T. Bailey joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The newly remodeled, 1,200 square-foot Dunkin’ employs nine crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 6 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
