Hannaford stores throughout Massachusetts to celebrate Food Day on October 24
Hundreds of events across the State to be held by non-profits, schools, businesses, farmers, chefs, and more to promote healthy, affordable, and sustainable food
BOSTON, Massachusetts – Hannaford Supermarkets locations across the Bay State will host a variety of events on Thursday, October 24 in recognition of Food Day – a nationwide celebration and movement toward more healthy, affordable, sustainable food and a better food system.
Hannaford will be part of the statewide effort, supported by the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources (MDAR), alongside hundreds of organizers and volunteers working to spread the message of choosing healthy, locally produced food and advocating for policies that support productive and respectful food systems.

The goals of Food Day align so closely with Hannaford’s core beliefs of health, wellness and sustainability,” said Hannaford Supermarkets Community Relations Specialist Molly Tarleton. “We look forward to celebrating our shared commitment on October 24.”
The Food Day activities from Hannaford will include special productions and recipe demonstrations at local schools to promote nutrition and healthy eating, community food drives and in-store sampling of healthy items.
Other community events in support of Food Day range from potlucks, “Eating Real” school challenges, film screenings, and farmers’ markets, to festivals and family dinners with food focused discussion.
