ELMIRA, NEW YORK – Dunkin’ and Make-A-Wish Western New York today announced the continuation of a community partnership designed to help make the wishes of local children come true.

Beginning on Friday, June 19, guests who donate $1 to Make-A-Wish at participating Dunkin’ restaurants in the Southern Tier will receive a specially-crafted Make-A-Wish Star Donut, while supplies last. All proceeds will benefit local Make-A-Wish chapters.

The Star Donut campaign has raised more than $448,000 for Make-A-Wish chapters throughout upstate New York since 2013.

“Dunkin’ is pleased to continue its support for Make-A-Wish Western New York, a charity that works day-in and day-out to help make the wishes of local children come true,” said Eric Stensland, Field Marketing Manager for Dunkin’. “I encourage the residents of the Southern Tier to enjoy a special treat while supporting an organization that is so important to the children and families in our community.”

The star-shaped specialty donut, which is topped with blue and white icing in honor of Make-A-Wish, is available at participating Dunkin’ restaurants in the Southern Tier through June 28.

“We are immensely grateful for a partnership as meaningful as the ‘Star Donut’ charitable campaign with Dunkin’ restaurants,” said Make-A-Wish Western New York Regional Director Ben Marchione. “Dunkin’ has been invested in our life-changing mission for a number of years, and this not only provides critical funding to help grant area wishes, but also brings much-needed local awareness as community support and healing wishes are needed now as much as ever.”

Make-A-Wish Western New York creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses throughout a 17-county region of New York State. The organization has granted more than 3,500 wishes in the Western New York area.
