Make-A-Wish Star Donut as a thank you

BINGHAMTON, NEW YORK – Dunkin’ and Make-A-Wish Central New York today announced the continuation of a community partnership designed to help make the wishes of local children come true.

Beginning on Friday, June 19, guests who donate $1 to Make-A-Wish at participating Dunkin’ restaurants in the Southern Tier will receive a specially-crafted Make-A-Wish Star Donut, while supplies last. All proceeds will benefit local Make-A-Wish chapters.

The Star Donut campaign has raised more than $448,000 for Make-A-Wish chapters throughout upstate New York since 2013.

“Dunkin’ is pleased to continue its support for Make-A-Wish Central New York, a charity that works day-in and day-out to help make the wishes of local children come true,” said Eric Stensland, Field Marketing Manager for Dunkin’. “I encourage the residents of the Southern Tier to enjoy a special treat while supporting an organization that is so important to the children and families in our community.”

The star-shaped specialty donut, which is topped with blue and white icing in honor of Make-A-Wish, is available at participating Dunkin’ restaurants in the Southern Tier through June 28.

“The continuation of this partnership is valuable and essential, especially during this time when fundraising has been greatly impacted and the number of eligible children continues to grow. Dunkin’ and their generous customers make a significant impact through the Star Donut Campaign,” said Diane Kuppermann, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Central New York. “The support generated provides hope to children living with critical illnesses and helps us continue to say yes to local wishes. We are immensely grateful to Dunkin’ Brands and the participating franchise operators who commit each year to this campaign. In spite of the challenges presented by COVID-19, we hope for another successful year.”

Make-A-Wish Central New York creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses throughout a 15-county region of New York State. The organization has granted more than 1,900 wishes since inception in 1985.
