SYRACUSE, New York  – Dunkin’ and Make-A-Wish Central New York today announced the continuation of a community partnership designed to help make the wishes of local children come true.

Beginning on Monday, April 29, guests who donate $1 to Make-A-Wish at participating Dunkin’ restaurants in Central New York will receive a specially-crafted Make-A-Wish Star Donut, while supplies last. All proceeds will benefit local Make-A-Wish chapters.

This marks the seventh consecutive year that Dunkin’ and Make-A-Wish Central New York have partnered in honor of World Wish Day, which is celebrated on April 29, the day the organization was founded. The Star Donut campaign has raised more than $362,000 since 2013.

“Dunkin’ is pleased to continue its support for Make-A-Wish Central New York, a charity that works day-in and day-out to help make the wishes of local children come true,” said Eric Stensland, Integrated Marketing Manager for Dunkin’. “I encourage the residents of Central New York to enjoy a special treat while supporting an organization that is so important to the children and families in our community.”

The star-shaped specialty donut, which is topped with blue and white icing in honor of Make-A-Wish, is available at participating Dunkin’ restaurants in Central New York through May 7.

“The Dunkin’ partnership is such an important one, as it provides both funding and significant awareness for Make-A-Wish,” said Diane Kuppermann, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish Central New York. “Dunkin’ and their loyal guests support the Star Donut Campaign and help grant life-changing wishes to local children with critical illnesses. Wishes run on Dunkin’.”

Make-A-Wish® Central New York is a nonprofit, tax-exempt organization dedicated to creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. We are on a quest to bring every eligible child’s wish to life, because a wish is an integral part of a child’s treatment journey. Research shows children who experience wishes can build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight critical illness. Make-A-Wish Central New York is able to continue to share the power of a wish thanks to monetary contributions, airline mile donations, and the overall generous support of individuals and corporations throughout its 15-county region, which includes Broome, Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego, Otsego, St. Lawrence, Tioga and Tompkins counties. Together, we transform lives one wish at a time. For more information, call (315) 475-WISH or visit www.cny.wish.org.
