ROCHESTER, N.Y. Dunkin’ today celebrated National Coffee Day by donating nearly 400 pounds of coffee to Foodlink. The coffee donation stems from the “Runs for Coffee” initiative between Dunkin’ and the Rochester Red Wings.

The donation occurred on National Coffee Day, which Dunkin’ is celebrating in Western New York by sharing the loyalty love with a special coffee offer. All day on National Coffee Day, Friday, Sept. 29, Dunkin’ Rewards members can get a FREE medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase*.

“We are excited to celebrate National Coffee Day by contributing to the tremendous efforts of Foodlink,” said Dunkin’ Field Marketing Manager Levi Pascher. “Foodlink is a vital community organization and we are proud to assist them by donating Dunkin’s signature coffee in partnership with the Rochester Red Wings.”

The donation from Dunkin’ comes in celebration of National Coffee Day and in conjunction with the annual “Runs for Coffee” charitable campaign. Dunkin’ pledged to donate one pound of coffee for every run scored at home by the Red Wings. This season, the Red Wings scored 378 runs at home.

“As a community-owned team, the Red Wings are especially proud to team up with Dunkin’ and Foodlink on the Runs for Coffee partnership,” said Rochester Red Wings Director of Corporate Development Nick Sciarratta. “Every time our team scores a run at home, our fans are reminded of the generous donation provided by our area Dunkin’ locations. It’s proven to be a great part of a Red Wings game experience and, more importantly, a way to help the essential programs that Foodlink provides. Our thanks to Dunkin’ for once again ‘stepping up the plate’ for Foodlink.”

“We’re always grateful to collaborate with both Dunkin’ and the Rochester Red Wings – two amazing community partners – for this annual initiative,” said Foodlink President & CEO Julia Tedesco. “We look forward to distributing this coffee to our hundreds of food pantry partners and other community meal programs across our region.”

The coffee donation will be used to help Foodlink continue to support local member agencies and the food-insecure people they serve.
