Dunkin’ brings next generation store to Rensselaer County

Residents who live and work in Rensselaer County can now enjoy Dunkin’s next generation store design at 561 Columbia Turnpike in East Greenbush, N.Y. In celebration of the restaurant’s grand reopening, guests enjoyed free giveaways, including $20 Dunkin’ cards and Dunkin’ merchandise, at an event on Thursday, Nov. 9.

The celebration continued with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. featuring representatives from Dunkin’ franchisee network Westside Donut Ventures and Joanne Dwyer, Director of Food Industry Partnerships for the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.

Westside Donut Ventures commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to the Regional Food Bank in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The Joy in Childhood Foundation is a nonprofit powered by Dunkin’ that provides grant opportunities to local communities around the U.S. The donation will enable the Regional Food Bank to provide 12,000 meals to those in need.

“We are thrilled to be a part of Dunkin’s next generation store concept and are excited to unveil the new store design to residents of East Greenbush,” said Westside Donut Ventures Dunkin’ franchisee Howard Novick. “We are excited to partner with The Joy in Childhood Foundation to donate to the Regional Food Bank of NENY and give back to the East Greenbush community that runs on Dunkin’.”

Earlier this year, Westside Donut Ventures raised $26,500 for the Regional Food Bank. Each year, Westside holds a monthlong charitable campaign encouraging guests to give back to the Regional Food Bank by rounding up their bill or making monetary donations at its Dunkin’ restaurants in the greater Capital Region. Since 2020, Westside has raised $137,100 or the equivalent of 548,400 meals for the Regional Food Bank, which provides food to families in need across upstate New York.
