Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins restaurant in Staten Island celebrates grand reopening with donation to Community Health Action of Staten

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 1131 Bay Street in the Rosebank neighborhood of Staten Island on Friday, December 5 as part of its grand reopening celebration.

Dunkin’ franchisee The Shree Group commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to Community Health Action of Staten Island, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Community Health Action of Staten Island (CHASI) was founded in 1988 as the Staten Island AIDS Task Force by a group of Staten Islanders. Its mission is to address health disparities by providing a wide range of services, including benefits assistance, harm reduction, overdose prevention, substance use recovery support and domestic violence intervention.

“We are truly grateful to The Shree Group and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for this generous $3,000 donation to support Community Health Action of Staten Island,” said Community Health Action of Staten Island Vice President of Programs Teisha Diallo. “These funds will go towards providing much-needed food services to at-risk children throughout Staten Island.”

The event featured the first 100 people in line at 9 a.m. receiving a free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 days, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise, and enjoyed a Dunkin’ photobooth and face painter.

New York State Assemblyman Sam Pirozzolo; Representatives from the office of Staten Island Borough President Vito J. Fossella; and representatives from the office of New York State Senator Jessica Scarcella-Spanton joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The newly remodeled, 2,500 square-foot Dunkin’ employs 10 crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
