DUNKIN’ $25,000 HOLIDAY SHOPPING SPREE STOCKS U.S. MARINE CORPS RESERVE TOYS FOR TOTS WAREHOUSE FOR 2021 CAMPAIGN

More than 100 Dunkin’ restaurants in Capital Region this year serve as drop-off points for guests wishing to donate new, unwrapped toys

ALBANY, NY; Dunkin’ franchisees and U.S. Marine Corps Reserve volunteers today ushered in the season of giving with a $25,000 shopping spree at Walmart in Albany ahead of the annual Toys for Tots holiday campaign.

Made possible by a recent contribution of $25,000 from local and regional Dunkin’ franchisees to the Toys for Tots Foundation, the gifts will be distributed to thousands of children and families across the state prior to the 2021 holiday.

For the 13th consecutive year, Capital Region Dunkin’ franchisees have supported the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s signature campaign, bringing the grand total during that time to $375,000 for the Toys for Tots program.

“We’re fortunate to have such a dedicated and committed community partner in Dunkin’ and are grateful for the support its franchisees have provided to help keep our holiday program going for more than a decade,” said Marine Gunnery Sgt. (Ret) Albert Roman, local coordinator of the Capital Region Toys for Tots campaign. “Their generosity will bring new toys to thousands of children throughout New York and Dunkin’s support exemplifies the true spirit of the holiday season.”

“Dunkin’ is thrilled to bring the spirit of the holidays to children in need by supporting the efforts of the Marines who spearhead the Toys for Tots campaign,” said Capital Region Dunkin’ franchisee Natasha Teixeira. “We are honored to continue our support and to be a part of this extraordinary effort that has such a vital impact on families in our community. We encourage all of our valued guests in the Capital Region to donate a new, unwrapped toy. Collection boxes are available at their neighborhood Dunkin’ restaurants.”

The Toys for Tots collection drive is currently underway at approximately 400 locations throughout the Capital Region, including more than 100 local and regional Dunkin’ restaurants.

More than 200 community agencies will work with the Marines to distribute toys to as many as 200,000 children.

Capital Region Toys for Tots serves 14 counties across upstate New York, including Albany, Broome, Clinton, Essex, Fulton, Franklin, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Washington and Warren. The holiday campaign operates annually from October 1 through December 23.
