Alpin Haus, one of the Northeast’s largest outdoor recreation retailers, will host its third annual Ski-toberfest celebration on Saturday, Oct. 18 at its ski shops in Amsterdam Route 30 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.), Clifton Park (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and the High Adventure by Alpin Haus Latham location (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
Ski-toberfest will feature several one-day only offers including: An opportunity for one guest to win a pair of Bent 110 Grateful Dead skis which will also be available in limited quantities for purchase; a special giveaway for early-bird shoppers; sale pricing on a variety of winter apparel and equipment; craft beer from local breweries; food; and live music at each location.
“Our annual Ski-toberfest is a time for us to treat our guests to Oktoberfest classics, such as pretzels and brats, local craft beer, live music and great deals on skis and snowboard gear and accessories for the upcoming winter season,” said Alpin Haus President Andy Heck. “Shopping for winter sports equipment during Ski-toberfest is the perfect time to take advantage of special pricing that is only available this time of the year. Alpin Haus team members are skilled at matching style and skill levels of each guest with the perfect skis and snowboards. The expansive inventory includes premium brands of skis and snowboards for adults and kids, including Atomic, Blizzard, Lib Tech, Nordica, Stockli and more. All equipment is tuned by expert staff using a precision Wintersteiger Mercury automated tuning machine, ensuring customers a great skiing experience.
Meanwhile, Skis on the Haus is back for the 2025 winter season. The brainchild of founder Bud Heck, whose vision was to offer every child the opportunity to get out on the slopes, Skis on the Haus provides children, ages five and under, free seasonal and snowboard leases. Children must weigh at least 35 pounds at the time of their fitting.
Seasonal and daily rentals and leasing of skis include boots and bindings and are available at nearby Alpin Haus locations in Amsterdam Route 30; Clifton Park; and High Adventure by Alpin Haus in Latham. Snowboard rentals are available exclusively in Amsterdam and Clifton Park.
