UHY LLP “NOT-FOR-PROFIT UPDATE” SEMINAR DRAWS LEADERS FROM THROUGHOUT THE NOT-FOR-PROFIT INDUSTRY

Albany, N.Y. – Executives and financial professionals from throughout the not-for-profit industry came together to discuss accounting and legal practices during UHY LLP’s inaugural “Not-For-Profit Update” seminar at the Albany Institute of History & Art on Friday, November 20.

Representatives from health and human services, education, arts and culture, foundations, trade associations, government agencies and other sectors of the not-for-profit industry made up the capacity crowd. The free event included breakfast, presentations, CPE credits, and an interactive question-and-answer session with tax, accounting, and legal experts serving not-for-profit organizations.

Topics covered at the event included industry developments and risk alerts, proposed changes to not-for-profit financial reporting, upcoming changes to the single audit, tax update and planning for 2016, an update on New York’s Non-Profit Revitalization Act, a review of legal risks facing non-profit boards and executives, and other best practices and developments.
