STUYVESANT PLAZA TO HOST ‘A NIGHT AT THE PLAZA’ SHOPPING CRAWL TO BENEFIT LOCAL NONPROFIT

Stuyvesant Plaza announces a winter evening of shopping to benefit local nonprofit, The Caring Closet Guilderland that provides hygiene products to Guilderland Central School District students and their families. Tickets for the shopping crawl, which will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 31 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., are $5 and may be purchased via Eventbrite.

The evening will feature five of the Plaza’s popular shops and restaurants, paired alongside five pop-up vendors, to provide guests exclusive offers and refreshments (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).

Upon check-in, guests will receive a stamp card to record each item they buy. When four or more purchases are made and recorded by merchants, the card holder will automatically be entered in a raffle for a gift basket, which will be awarded at the end of the event. The crawl will conclude at Jacob & Anthony’s Italian restaurant, where a cash bar, featuring a specialty chai espresso martini cocktail, and complimentary appetizers will be available.

“We are excited to host ‘A Night at the Plaza’ and offer our loyal guests a mid-winter evening of shopping that is sure to cure cabin fever and uncover treasures to gift or keep,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “Our participating merchants and pop-up vendors have come up with enticing surprises for this event. And in the spirit of continuing our growing tradition of supporting local nonprofits in the community and the important work they do, ‘A Night at the Plaza’ will double as a fundraiser for The Caring Closet Guilderland, which provides hygiene products to local students.”

The Caring Closet Guilderland was established in March 2022. There is a Caring Closet installed at Farnsworth Middle School and Guilderland High School to make it convenient for students to access the hygiene items they and their families need. Additionally, The Caring Closet provides a take home tote bag program for the district’s five elementary schools, supplying students and their families with hygiene products and refilling the tote bags each month.

“We are honored to be part of ‘A Night at the Plaza,’” said The Caring Closet Guilderland Founder and Executive Director Amanda Beedle. “Stuyvesant Plaza is a cherished part of the Guilderland community and is doing valuable work in supporting and driving awareness of local nonprofits. We are grateful that they chose us to be the beneficiary of such a special event.”
