SARATOGA SPRINGS DOWNTOWN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION CELEBRATES BELMONT ON BROADWAY

The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association, in collaboration with Discover Saratoga, Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, Saratoga Economic Development Corporation, Saratoga Springs City Center, Saratoga County, and the City of Saratoga Springs, is proud to present Belmont on Broadway, a multifaceted celebration planned for the week of the 2024 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival, June 4-9. The Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association will be rolling out the red carpet to welcome visitors coming into town for the Belmont Stakes, to the downtown corridor of the City.

The traditional Saratoga Springs Downtown Business Association’s annual themed window decorating contest arrives in time for the Belmont Race. Seventeen storefronts will be decorated throughout the City for Belmont weekend. Participating businesses include The Dark Horse Mercantile, Impressions of Saratoga, Lifestyles of Saratoga, Union Hall Supply Company, Caroline & Main, Crafters Gallery, Samantha Nass Floral Design, Hatsational, Violet’s of Saratoga, The National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame, Saratoga Arts, N. Fox Jewelers, G. Willikers, Celtic Treasures, The Saratoga Springs City Center, Saratoga Candy Co., and Menges and Curtis Apothecary. Judging will take place the afternoon of Tuesday, June 4. Store windows will be judged by Mark Mulholland, WNYT NewsChannel 13 Evening News Anchor, Ramon Dominguez, Hall of Fame Jockey, and Acacia Clement, NYRA/Fox Sports News Anchor, on a point system according to how well each window meets the following criteria: Fun Factor, Creativity, and Visual Impact. A list of contest prizes includes, for Show: 2 Grandstand Admission tickets for the Belmont Stakes Day valued at $100; for Place: 2 Grandstand Reserved seats for the Belmont Stakes Day valued at $370; and for the Winner: 2 Clubhouse Reserved seats for Belmont Stakes Day valued at $650. The winners will be announced publicly on Wednesday, June 5.

The kick-off event to the week will be a free outdoor concert on Broadway in front of the Saratoga Springs City Center, on Wednesday, June 5. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. with Tops of Trees, a Saratoga-based original eight-piece rock and soul ensemble, followed by, hailing from Virginia, the Pat McGee Band who will take the stage at 7pm. The headlining act will be Blues Traveler, whose hit “Run-Around” achieved the longest-charting radio single in Billboard history. The group went on to earn a Grammy for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. Broadway will be closed for this event.
