ALBANY, NY; – Stuyvesant Plaza today welcomed the addition of a new piece of whimsical artwork designed to serve as a measuring tool for shoppers. The 12-foot sculpture, created by artist Peter Kirkiles, is designed in the shape and image of a ruler, and is composed of stainless steel and West African wood. Plaza patrons will be invited to stand beside the sculpture, which is marked in 12-inch increments, to assess their height.

The new sculpture was commissioned by Stuyvesant Plaza, Inc. President Ed Swyer in consultation with Greg Sheridan, who has designed as many as 50 stores and restaurants at Stuyvesant Plaza over the

years, including Pearl Grant Richmans, Jean Paul Spa, The Book House, Delmar Bootery, Executive Cleaners, and the original Bountiful Bread.
