NORTHEASTERN FINE JEWELRY TO LAUNCH STRATEGIC PLAN WITH RENOVATION, EXPANSION OF ALBANY STORE

Leading jeweler to open New York City store, finalizing plans for additional Capital Region location

ALBANY, New York; – Northeastern Fine Jewelry today announced a series of strategic plans for its business, including a significant and extensive renovation to its Albany store, as well as a new downstate location in the historic Diamond District in New York City. Both projects are anticipated to begin this summer.

The Albany renovation will feature a 1000-square-foot upgrade and expansion of both the showroom and offices at the store located at 1575 Western Avenue. The project will also result in a new exterior façade and an updated landscape design. Additionally, the expanded showroom will allow Northeastern Fine Jewelry to add additional brands to its robust lineup of premium jewelry.

The New York City store will be located in the Diamond District and will allow Northeastern Fine Jewelry to serve its downstate and New Jersey clients. The Manhattan store will also provide Northeastern Fine Jewelry with the opportunity to interface daily with suppliers in the heart of the diamond exchange.

“For more than 25 years, Northeastern Fine Jewelry has served as the benchmark jeweler in the greater Capital Region. We are excited to announce plans to further solidify our presence here in Albany while expanding operations downstate,” said Ray Bleser, owner of Northeastern Fine Jewelry. “The renovation and expansion of our Albany store will allow us to provide a greater variety of jewelry in a vibrant setting, while the New York City location will give us the opportunity to expand our business downstate while simultaneously benefiting our Capital Region clientele.”

Additionally, Northeastern Fine Jewelry is pursuing plans to open a new location in the greater Capital Region by the end of the year.

The jeweler will close its store in Manchester, Vermont this spring to focus on the new projects. The staff will be relocated to the jeweler’s other locations in Albany and Schenectady.

Founded by Bleser in 1980, the company began as the Northeastern Coin Gallery with 1,200 square feet of showroom space on Upper Union Street in Schenectady. Five years later, Bleser turned his focus to fine jewelry and rebranded the business to its current incarnation. In 2012, Northeastern Fine Jewelry completed a $1.8 million expansion of its flagship store at 1607 Union Street in Schenectady. The project more than doubled the store’s showroom space and created additional jobs.

Northeastern Fine Jewelry is widely acclaimed for its original and inviting neighborhood storefronts; its award-winning customer service and support; and its extensive offering of global and internationally recognized lines of jewelry, including Cartier, Forevermark, Omega, Tacori, Breitling, Lagos, Kwiat, Simon G, John Hardy, Roberto Coin, Mikimoto, and Lazare Kaplan, amongst others.
