Capitol-themed Dunkin’ Donuts Card Unveiled

New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner RoAnn Destito today announced the grand opening of Dunkin’ Donuts on the first floor of New York State Capitol. Following a ceremonial “first pouring” of Dunkin’s coffee, the franchise unveiled its new Capitol-themed reloadable coffee card.

“We are delighted to add Dunkin’ Donuts to the diverse food options available for staff and visitors at the Empire State Plaza,” said Commissioner Destito. “The addition of Dunkin’ Donuts to our other options, including Capitol Q, PRIME at the Plaza, Euro Delicacies,  Pho Yum, Phil’s Kitchen, ’Merican Glory, Honest Weight Co-op Café,  Au Bon Pain, McDonald’s, and Subway, rounds out a diverse  group of food choices at different price levels for staff and visitors.”

The State Capitol Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Approximately 20 crew members will staff the operation.

To celebrate the opening of the high-profile location, the first 500 guests to visit the State Capitol Dunkin’ Donuts beginning on Tuesday, April 1 will receive a $2 Dunkin’ Donuts rechargeable coffee card featuring an image of the iconic State Capitol. The card is available exclusively at the State Capitol Dunkin’ Donuts and may be reloaded for future use and convenience. It will be accepted at all participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations.

“Dunkin’ Donuts is honored to open its newest restaurant inside the historic State Capitol,” said Mark Cafua, CEO of Cafua Management Company. “We look forward to serving the many staff and visitors who frequent the Capitol each workday. We’re excited to celebrate by providing 500 guests with a Dunkin’ Donuts card featuring the State Capitol – one of the landmark buildings in New York State.”

The State Capitol Dunkin’ Donuts includes a granite wall once part of the Capitol’s exterior. Constructed in 1875, the wall was part of the Capitol’s central courtyard until becoming an interior wall with the addition of a cafeteria in 1923.

The restaurant incorporates the brand’s new “Fresh Brew” design featuring a contemporary layout, color scheme, lighting, seating and other modern conveniences including soft seating, digital menu boards, additional USB and electrical outlets and a flat-screen television. The colorful, soft seating for up to 80 allows guests to relax with friends, have a business meeting or work on their computers at mobile workstations.

The new restaurant offers a complete menu of Dunkin’ Donuts’ internationally recognized coffee, lattes, donuts and bakery goods including the brand’s better-for-you DDSMART menu options.
