FANS SAVE ON ADMISSION WITH ADVANCE PURCHASE FOR RUNHAPPY TRAVERS DAY

Tickets available for $20 prior to meet’s marquee day

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) today announced that fans attending Runhappy Travers Day on Saturday, August 27, will save $5 on the cost of grandstand admission when purchasing tickets in advance.

Tickets may be purchased in-person at the NYRA Box Office by Gate A at Saratoga Race Course or online at NYRA.com/Travers. Grandstand admission tickets are on sale in advance for $20. The price on the day of the event is $25.

A limited number of Clubhouse admission tickets are available for $30. There are no Clubhouse upgrades on Runhappy Travers Day.

Gates open at 7 a.m. on Runhappy Travers Day with first post time of 11:35 a.m. Only one picnic table may be reserved per person and fans are advised not to run inside the gates. Breakfast and tram tours are not offered on Runhappy Travers Day.

The 153rd renewal of the Grade 1, $1.25 million Runhappy Travers is expected to feature Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike, Preakness winner Early Voting and Jim Dandy winner Epicenter. The race is sponsored by Runhappy, a champion sprinter currently standing at Claiborne Farm.

The Runhappy Travers headlines an action-packed card that also features the Grade 1, $750,000 Resorts World Casino Sword Dancer for older horses travelling 1 1/2 miles on turf in pursuit of a berth into the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Turf; the Grade 1, $600,000 Personal Ensign for fillies and mares 4-and-up going nine furlongs; the Grade 1, $600,000 Forego at seven furlongs for 4-year-olds and upward; and the Grade 1, $500,000 H. Allen Jerkens Memorial for 3-year-olds going seven furlongs. Rounding out the card is the Grade 2, $400,000 Ballston Spa for turf fillies and mares going 1 1/16 miles.

For the fourth consecutive year, FOX will present live coverage and analysis of the Runhappy Travers as part of a 90-minute broadcast, which will begin at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Saratoga Live will feature all of the action from Saratoga Race Course beginning at 11:30 a.m. on FS1 with continuing coverage on FS2 at 2 p.m. After the conclusion of the broadcast on FOX at 6 p.m., coverage will resume on FS2 through 7 p.m.

The Siena College Pep Band will entertain fans after the second and third races of the afternoon. As many as 35 members of the Green and Gold will travel to Saratoga Race Course from nearby Siena College in Loudonville, NY, to perform in the infield. Siena College is a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC).

The summer meet at historic Saratoga Race Course continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 5. Racing is conducted five days a week, Wednesdays through Sundays, apart from the final week, when the meet will conclude on Labor Day.
