Performances mark beginning of partnership between Northeastern Fine Jewelry and Empire State Youth Orchestras
ALBANY, N.Y., December 11, 2013 – Northeastern Fine Jewelry will add a festive atmosphere to its stores this holiday season with a series of special performances from musicians with the Empire State Youth Orchestras (ESYO) on Friday, December 20 and Saturday, December 21.
On Friday, December 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. shoppers at the Northeastern Fine Jewelry store in Albany will enjoy holiday music performed by a guitarist from ESYO.
The special holiday performances will continue at the Northeastern Fine Jewelry store in Schenectady on Saturday, December 21 with a piano soloist performing at 11 a.m. followed by two violin duos, one at 1 p.m. and one at 3 p.m.
“Northeastern Fine Jewelry is thrilled to welcome the Empire State Youth Orchestras to our stores this holiday season,” said Northeastern Fine Jewelry President Ray Bleser. “The arts, specifically for area youth, are an instrumental part of our community. The talented musicians will undoubtedly help spread holiday cheer throughout our stores during the hustle and bustle of the season.”

The in-store holiday performances mark one element of a year-long partnership between Northeastern Fine Jewelry and the Empire State Youth Orchestras. Northeastern Fine Jewelry will also support ESYO’s annual Playathon at Crossgates Mall on Saturday, February 8. The perennial event features a full day of rotating performances from each of ESYO’s nine performing groups.
Additionally, Northeastern Fine Jewelry will serve as a sponsor of ESYO’s annual gala on May 2, 2014.
The Empire State Youth Orchestras was recently recognized as the nonprofit organization of the year (fewer than 75 employees) by the Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council. The awards recognize successful nonprofit organizations and outstanding community-minded individuals for positive contributions to the vitality of the region’s community. The Tech Valley Nonprofit Business Council is a joint initiative supported by the Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber and The Chamber of Schenectady County.

About Empire State Youth Orchestras (ESYO)
300 talented youth from the Capital Region of New York and western New England are selected by audition each year for positions in ESYO’s nine performing ensembles.
