DUNKIN’ TO HOST SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE AT NEWLY REMODELED LATHAM RESTAURANT

School supplies donated at the Aug. 28 event will benefit Colonie Youth Center

Latham, N.Y.– As a continuation of the partnership established at the recent grand reopening celebration of its restaurant at 1003 Troy-Schenectady Road, Dunkin’ will host a special one-day school supply drive for the Colonie Youth Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 28. The first 50 guests to donate an item will receive a $5 Dunkin’ gift card.

Dunkin’ franchisee Serouse Sharifipour previously donated $3,000 to the Colonie Youth Center in partnership with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation to commemorate the official reopening of the remodeled Latham location on June 23. The school supply drive is an extension of that initiative.

“We are happy to do what we can to take our donation a step further by asking our wonderful guests to participate in this school supply drive,” Sharifipour said. “The rising cost of school supplies is a hardship for many of our guests and neighbors. This is our way to help the Colonie Youth Center support local students and their families.”

The Colonie Youth Center, Inc., a nonprofit organization offering safe and affordable before- and- after-school programs to local families, has identified students’ most needed back-to-school items as pencils, colored pencils, crayons, Crayola markers, dry erase markers, liquid glue, glue sticks, construction paper, folders with pockets, scissors and Kleenex. All items must be in original packaging and unopened.

“We are truly grateful to our local Dunkin’ in Latham and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for their generous grant and continued support with this one-day school supply drive,” said Colonie Youth Center Executive Director Nikki A. Caruso. “Caring partnerships like these through Dunkin’ and local franchisee Serouse Sharifipour help us provide important services to children and families in our community.”
