Dunkin’ restaurant in Rockville Centre celebrates grand reopening with donation to CoopStrong Foundation

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 574 Merrick Rd. in the village of Rockville Centre within the town of Hempstead on Friday, December 12 as part of its grand reopening celebration.

Dunkin’ franchisee FRJ Merrick Donuts commemorated the occasion with a $2,000 donation to the CoopStrong Foundation, founded in honor of local resident Cooper Graham, who developed retinoblastoma in 2022 when he was just four months old, and was later diagnosed with non-verbal autism. Now three years old, Cooper’s journey is a powerful reminder of critical ongoing support for childhood cancer research, early intervention and autism services.

“We sincerely thank Rocky Sheikh and FRJ Merrick Donuts for their support of the CoopStrong Foundation,” said CoopStrong Co-Founders Mike and Rachel Graham. “Their generosity will help us support families of children facing pediatric cancer and other serious illnesses through vital resources, advocacy and care.”

The event featured the first 100 people in line at 9 a.m. receiving a free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 days, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise and enjoyed a Dunkin’ photobooth and face painter.

Rockville Centre Mayor Francis Murray; Representatives on behalf of U.S. Congresswomen Laura Gillen; Representatives on behalf of New York State Assemblywoman Judy Griffin; and representatives on behalf of Nassau County District Legislator Scott Davis joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The newly remodeled, 1,500 square-foot Dunkin’ employs 14 crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
