Dunkin’ restaurant in Long Beach commemorates grand reopening with donation to fight food insecurity on Long Island

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s next generation store at 1070 W. Beech St. in Long Beach earlier this month as part of its grand reopening ceremony.

The newly remodeled restaurant – owned by Dunkin’ franchisee Tim Dutra of Dunkin’s franchise network Valley Stream Donuts – commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to No Kid Hungry New York in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. No Kid Hungry New York partners with schools, community-based organizations and government agencies to launch and enhance programs that provide healthy meals and expand access to nutritious food.

“No Kid Hungry New York is very appreciative of the support and generosity of Tim Dutra and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation,” said Director of No Kid Hungry New York Rachel Sabella. “Their gift helped us further our mission of combatting food insecurity in New York, and we are proud to have been a part of this exciting event for the Long Beach community.”

The celebration also included members of the Long Beach Police Department, Long Beach City Manager Daniel Creighton and other Long Beach local government members, who joined Dunkin’ representatives for a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event featured the first 100 guests in line at 3 p.m. receiving a coupon book containing four free medium hot or iced coffee coupons per month for 14 months as part of Dunkin’s Free Coffee for a Year giveaway, while many other Dunkin’ Rewards members spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise.
