Dunkin’ restaurant in Jersey City celebrates grand reopening with donation to New City Kids

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 739 Bergen Avenue in the McGinley Square neighborhood of Jersey City on Thursday, December 18 as part of its grand reopening celebration.

Dunkin’ franchisee Pankaj Savaliya commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to New City Kids in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. New City Kids offers faith-based, after-school programming for local youth from under-resourced communities.

“Throughout New City Kids’ 30-year history, our success has depended on partnering with the community,” said New City Kids Associate Director Shaun Hopkins. “We appreciate this generous gift from Pankaj Savaliya and Dunkin’. This contribution will play an important role in enhancing programs that inspire, educate, and equip Hudson County youth for success. Together, we’re making a difference.”

The event featured the first 100 people in line at 9 a.m. receiving four free medium hot or iced coffees for 14 months, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise and enjoyed a Dunkin’ photobooth.

Jersey City Councilman-Elect Tom Zuppa and officers from the Jersey City Police Department’s West Precinct joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The newly remodeled 1,600 square-foot Dunkin’ employs seven crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
