Dunkin’s continued support of local Toys for Tots program reaches $375,000

Clifton Park, NY – Dunkin’ today kicked off the 2021 edition of the Capital Region Toys for Tots program by announcing a $25,000 donation from its local and regional franchisees. The donation will be used to help deliver cheer to children across New York and brings Dunkin’s total support of the holiday collection campaign to $375,000 over the past 13 years.

Anchored by Dunkin’ and its local franchisees for more than a decade, local officials announced this year’s Toys for Tots collection drive will take place at approximately 400 locations throughout the Capital Region, including more than 100 local and regional Dunkin’ restaurants, which will serve as drop-off points for guests wishing to donate new, unwrapped toys.

“Dunkin’ is honored to once again support the efforts of the Marines, who are the driving force behind the Capital Region Toys for Tots campaign. We are thrilled to partner with these dedicated heroes to spearhead our annual Dunkin’ holiday toy collection drive which allows us to support the many children in our communities,” said Capital Region Dunkin’ franchisee Natasha Teixeira. “Bringing joy to children is a goal Dunkin’ strives to accomplish throughout the year and especially during the holidays. We encourage all of our guests in the Capital Region to come donate a new, unwrapped toy in the collection boxes at their neighborhood Dunkin’ restaurants this holiday season.”

Capital Region Toys for Tots and the Marine Corps Reserve will work with 200 community agencies across the state to serve more than 200,000 children this holiday season.

“The coronavirus pandemic continues to put tremendous financial strain on families heading into the holidays and thanks to Dunkin’ and our many community partners we will continue to accomplish our mission of supporting children across New York this holiday season,” said Marine Gunnery Sgt. (Ret.) Albert Roman, local coordinator of the Capital Region Toys for Tots campaign. “The pandemic has impacted our daily lives, but as last year showed, these challenging circumstances won’t prevent the Capital Region from supporting its neighbors in need. We thank our longtime partner Dunkin’ for their continued support, vision and dedication to bringing toys to thousands of children each holiday season.”

Officials from Capital Region Toys for Tots and Dunkin’ were joined by area campaign supporters for today’s kick-off announcement at the Marine Secure Warehouse. The Clifton Park-based warehouse was donated by the Wayne Wagner family to serve as the home of the Capital Region Toys for Tots program. Capital Region Toys for Tots is once again partnering with Quick Response to clean and sanitize both the warehouse and all toys collected prior to distribution.

Clifton Park & Halfmoon EMS and the Saratoga Sheriff’s Department also provide support to the Toys for Tots campaign. Saratoga County Sheriff Michael Zurlo will host the eighth annual Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department Convoy for Tots on Sunday, November 7 to benefit Capital Region Toys for Tots. During the 2021 event, more than 15,000 toys were donated.

The Toys for Tots Foundation receives additional support from numerous companies and organizations throughout the greater Capital Region, including Upstate Transit of Saratoga, Alpin Haus, Auto Solutions, Destination Auto Group, Mohawk Honda, Mohawk Chevrolet, iHeart Media, Robert’s Towing & Recovery, SEFCU, Seymour’s Motorized Sports, Sondra’s Fine Jewelry, Flowrite, Clifton Park Halfmoon EMS, Albany County Sheriff’s Office and the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
