ALBANY, N.Y.– Dunkin’ Donuts today announced it will support the efforts to cure muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by collecting donations in its Capital Region restaurants to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s “Make a Muscle, Make a Difference” campaign.
From July 6 through July 14, guests who elect to contribute $1 to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Capital Region will receive a paper donut icon bearing the MDA logo which may be displayed with the guest’s name on the wall of the restaurant.
Over the past three years, Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the Capital Region have generated more than $112,000 in partnership with their guests to benefit the MDA.
“Dunkin’ Donuts is honored to once again support the critical efforts and innovative programs of the MDA, which works to enhance the lives of people affected by muscular dystrophy and related muscle diseases,” said Dunkin’ Donuts Field Marketing Manager Eric Stensland. “We’re honored to utilize our vast network and the generosity of our guests to help support this outstanding cause. I am confident our loyal guests will be as enthusiastic as ever in raising funds for an organization that is so important to our community.”
All contributions generated from the campaign will support the MDA’s comprehensive services program for Capital Region families, including youth summer camps, medical equipment, clinics and support groups; as well as the association’s research efforts to find a cure for neuromuscular diseases.
“We are fortunate to have found such a dedicated community partner in Dunkin’ Donuts and are grateful for the support that Dunkin’ Donuts and its franchisees are providing the MDA,” said Albany MDA Executive Director Joelle Monaco. “Community donations are vital to our work. The generosity of Dunkin’ Donuts and its customers will allow us to continue to provide life-enhancing services and programs to thousands of individuals affected by neuromuscular diseases.”
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the non-profit health agency dedicated to curing muscular dystrophy, ALS and related diseases by funding worldwide research. The association also provides comprehensive healthcare and support services, advocacy and education.
