SYRACUSE;  – Dunkin’ Donuts today celebrated the success of two charitable campaigns during the winter and spring that generated more than $30,000 and nearly 200 pounds of coffee for Food Bank of Central New York.

The $30,309 donation is the result of “Iced Coffee Day” held across the region on May 24, during which $1 from every cup of iced coffee sold at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Central New York was donated to Food Bank of Central New York.

“We are extremely appreciative for this very generous donation which will enable us to distribute enough nutritious food to make up 90,927 meals,” said Lynn Hy, Chief Development Officer at Food Bank of Central New York.

Dunkin’ Donuts also announced the results of its “Goals for Coffee” charitable partnerships with the Syracuse Crunch hockey team and Syracuse Silver Knights indoor soccer team. The initiative generated a donation of one pound of coffee for Food Bank of Central New York for every goal scored by each team during home games throughout the 2016-17 seasons.

“We’re pleased to announce a donation of 194 pounds of coffee and $30,309 to benefit Food Bank of Central New York,” said Dunkin’ Donuts Field Marketing Manager Eric Stensland. “These donations speak volumes about the generosity of residents throughout Central New York and our valued partnerships with the Syracuse Crunch, Silver Knights and Syracuse Chiefs. Together we are able to make a difference in the community through our support for an organization that is so vital to families in need.”

Dunkin’ Donuts today also pledged that it will donate one pound of coffee to Food Bank of Central New York for every run scored by the Syracuse Chiefs during the team’s home games at NBT Bank Stadium during the 2017 season. The community initiative is just one element of a season-long partnership with the Chiefs.

“We are truly pleased to be a part of this wonderful program that benefits members of our community,” said Jason Smorol, General Manager of the Syracuse Chiefs. “Dunkin’ Donuts and Food Bank of Central New York do all the heavy lifting and both should be commended for their commitment to residents of Central New York.”
