SYRACUSE, NY; Dunkin’ today celebrated National Coffee Day by donating more than 300 pounds of coffee to the Food Bank of Central New York. The coffee donation stems from the “Runs for Coffee” initiative between Dunkin’ and the Syracuse Mets.

The donation occurred on National Coffee Day, which Dunkin’ is celebrating in Central New York by sharing the loyalty love with a special coffee offer. All day on National Coffee Day, Thursday, September 29, DD Perks® members can get a FREE medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase*.

“We are excited to celebrate National Coffee Day by contributing to the tremendous efforts of the Food Bank of Central New York,” said Central New York Dunkin’ Franchisee Tom Santurri. “The Food Bank is a vital community organization and we are proud to assist them by donating Dunkin’s signature coffee in partnership with the Syracuse Mets.”

The donation from Dunkin’ comes in celebration of National Coffee Day and in conjunction with the annual “Runs for Coffee” charitable campaign. Dunkin’ pledges to donate one pound of coffee for every run scored at home by the Syracuse Mets during each baseball season.

“Dunkin’ does so much for our community that goes unnoticed so it is nice that we can do a larger promotion like this, to bring attention to the great work and generosity the Dunkin’ franchisees do in our community,” said Syracuse Mets General Manager Jason Smorol.

“Food Bank of Central New York is grateful for our partnerships with both Dunkin’ and the Syracuse Mets,” said Food Bank of Central New York Chief Development Officer Lynn Hy. “Because of the Mets stellar play on the field this year, more than 300 pounds of coffee will be distributed to our partner agencies throughout our 11-county service area. Thanks to Dunkin’ for again helping to provide this coffee for people facing food insecurity and making sure that America Runs on Dunkin’.”

The coffee donation will be used to help the Food Bank of Central New York continue to support hundreds of partner agencies across central and northern New York.
