Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins restaurant in Bay Shore commemorates grand reopening with donation to The Viscardi Center

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins’ newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 529 East Main Street in Bay Shore on Wednesday, October 28, as part of its grand reopening ceremony.

Dunkin’ franchisee Metro Franchising commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to The Viscardi Center, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. The Viscardi Center is a non-profit organization that educates, employs, and empowers children, adults, and veterans with disabilities or similar needs, so they can discover the love of learning, the power of work, the freedom of independent living, and the self-confidence to fulfill their dreams.

“The Henry Viscardi School is proud to be the recipient of such generous support from Metro Franchising and Dunkin’,” said The Viscardi Center Chief Development Officer Lauren Marzo. “Our relationship spans well over a decade, and Dunkin’s support has helped provide critical programs for our students with severe disabilities. These programs help our students learn, grow and take important steps toward an independent future.”

Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter; Members of the Bay Shore Fire Department; and representatives on behalf of U.S. Congressman Andrew Garbarino, Suffolk County District Legislator Steven J. Flotteron and Islip Town Councilman Michael J. McElwee, Jr., joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The morning featured all guests receiving a free medium hot or iced coffee and donut, while many others enjoyed 31 cent Baskin-Robbins ice cream scoops and spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise.

The newly remodeled, 2,100 square-foot Bay Shore Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins employs 20 crew members and is open 24 hours daily, seven days per week.
