Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premier open-air retail destination, today announces that Circles – a local, woman-owned plaza staple for over 30 years – is hosting a special re-opening event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12, following extensive renovations.
Festivities will include a first look at the boutique’s comprehensive transformation, which reflects owner Sharon Fenno’s vision to create a contemporary space reimagined with metropolitan sophistication. Guests will experience the unveiling of a redesigned interior that captures both elegance and sophistication. The celebration will also showcase fresh fall inventory and an elevated mix of designers and emerging brands, including Staud, Mother, Rails, Agolde, and Simkhai.
Guests will be encouraged to shop the boutique’s newly refreshed assortment, including a special collection of ballcaps purchased exclusively for the occasion. With any in-store purchase, guests can visit a complimentary embroidery customization bar by Lyf Supply to personalize their item. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be provided, while supplies last.
Circles was founded by Sharon Fenno in 1994, who moved her then-Delmar-based boutique to Stuyvesant Plaza in 1996. A women’s specialty store, Circles offers a unique collection of both emerging and the most sought-after designers in an intimate shopping environment, all while providing an exceptional level of customer service. The shop is poised to celebrate its 31st anniversary at the plaza it calls home in 2026.
“Owning and evolving Circles over the past three decades has been both a privilege and a passion,” said Sharon Fenno, owner of Circles. “This renovation was about more than just updating the space – it was about creating a modern environment with a European elegance that reflects the way women want to shop today. I’m proud to continue bringing our clients both the designers they know and love, as well as fresh, emerging brands that keep Circles at the forefront of fashion.”
“The transformation of Circles marks the next evolution for a woman-founded business with local roots and designer fashion that launched nearly 30 years ago,” said Rachel Ferluge, General Manager of Stuyvesant Plaza. “Sharon Fenno has not only dominated the luxury boutique scene in the Capital Region, but she has done so with grace and grit – reimagining her boutique to lead in today’s ever-evolving fashion scene, while also staying on top of the game with what is tried and true. The boutique’s refreshed design is both inviting and vibrant, offering guests a one-of-a-kind destination for specialty apparel and accessories for women.”
Stuyvesant Plaza recently welcomed Anthropologie and its sister store FP Movement, as well as locally-based Samantha Nass Floral Design.
