CARDONA’S MARKET CELEBRATES TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK WITH TEACHER’S P.E.T. SANDWICH AND RAFFLE

A portion of proceeds from sub sales to benefit the Albany Fund for Education; three customer-nominated schools will win sandwich platters for their faculty

ALBANY, N.Y.– Cardona’s Market salutes Capital Region educators with a signature sandwich for Teacher Appreciation Week. The Teacher’s P.E.T. – a Cardona’s original sub featuring prosciutto, eggplant and tomato on a classic Italian roll with stracciatella cheese, garlic confit, olive oil and pepper relish – takes a seat at the head of the class today through Friday, May 12, with a portion of proceeds from the sales benefiting the Albany Fund for Education. Cardona’s guests at each of its three market locations are invited to nominate a local school for a chance to win a Cardona’s Sub Lunch Box package, feeding up to 15 members of the hard-working faculty in each Cardona’s Market community.

“Cardona’s is proud to thank the incredible educators here in the Capital Region in our own delicious fashion,” said Cardona’s Co-Owner and Executive Chef Robert Cardona Jr. “We’re happy to give back to those who give so much to our kids during Teacher Appreciation Week. Through our partnership with the Albany Fund for Education, we can further support our schools by donating a portion of the sales of the Teacher’s P.E.T. sub to this wonderful organization. Anyone who visits our markets this week to enjoy this sandwich is invited to nominate their favorite school’s teachers for lunch on us!”

The Albany Fund for Education is a nonprofit organization focused on bringing opportunities to City School District of Albany students, regardless of their socio-economic status. The Fund works to support ideas generated by teachers and staff who know what kids need to succeed inside and outside the classroom.

Teacher Appreciation Week was founded by the National Education Association as an annual tribute to teachers. Teacher Appreciation Week is an opportunity to support and advocate for educators, shining a spotlight on exceptional teachers and raising funds to improve the quality of public schools across the country.

In addition to Teacher Appreciation Week offerings, Cardona’s is featuring specially-priced Mother’s Day brunch, Memorial Day and graduation party take-away menu packages available for pre-order. Visit Catering.CardonasMarket.com to reserve your meal.
