Cardona’s Market, the family-owned Italian specialty foods market and catering company serving the Capital Region since 1945, wants to take the bite out of leaving summer behind with a back-to-school “Don’t be Bleu” sandwich offer in honor of three area high schools. From Monday, September 7 through Friday, September 11, guests can enjoy $1 off a small or large Bleu Falcon, Bleu Bison or Bleu Streak sub at Cardona’s Albany, Latham and Saratoga markets (in-store orders only).
Each sandwich is available at the Cardona’s market location which corresponds with the respective high school: The Bleu Bison named for the Shaker High School Blue Bison is available at the Latham market; the Bleu Falcon in celebration of the Albany High School Falcons is sold at the Albany market; and the Bleu Streak to commemorate the Saratoga Springs High School Blue Streaks is available at Cardona’s in Saratoga Springs. The sandwich features a chicken cutlet on a sub roll tossed in buffalo sauce with bacon, blue cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato and ranch dressing.
Cardona’s will deliver a complimentary 6-foot “Bleu” Party Sub to the teacher’s lounge at the high school whose supporters demonstrate the most school spirit reflected in the number of sandwiches sold. The Party Sub will be delivered during the week of September 7.

Cardona’s Back-to-School and Fall Sports catering specials will accommodate a wide variety of audiences, ranging from individuals to groups of 2, 15 or 20.

- BYO LUNCH BOX KIT – (Serves 2 people) includes choice of two Signature Cardona’s Subs; two Homemade Side Salads; two Bags of Chips; two Fresh-Baked Cookies and two Drinks.
- CLASSROOM WRAP LUNCH BOX — (Serves 15 people) includes 15 Assorted Wraps; 15 Assorted Chips; 15 Chocolate Chip Cookies; five Sodas; five Waters; and five Teas.
- CLASSROOM SUB LUNCH BOX — (Serves 15 people) includes 15 Assorted Subs; 15 Assorted Chips; 15 Chocolate Chip Cookies; five Sodas; five Waters; and five Teas.
- TEACHER’S LOUNGE HOT LUNCH — (Serves 20 people) includes Garden Salad; Vodka Rigatoni with Chicken; Eggplant Parmigiana; Cardona’s Famous Meatballs; Italian Bread with Butter; 2-pound Italian Cookie Platter; 20 Paper Set-Ups; and (2) 2-Liter Soda.
Beginning September 16, Cardona’s will continue its back-to-school celebration with a special catering giveaway. Guests can enter to win a ‘Teacher’s Lounge Hot Lunch’ package for their favorite teacher/school by visiting the Cardona’s website. Cardona’s will announce the winning school and/or teacher the week of September 21 and provide a special catering delivery to teacher’s lounge at that school.
