Cardona’s Market – the family-owned specialty foods market and catering company serving the Capital Region since 1945 – is thrilled to celebrate the 2026 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Champion Siena Saints by offering a one-day special on one of its most popular celebrity sandwiches.
From 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, Cardona’s will offer a full-size “G-Mac” sandwich, named in honor of Siena Men’s Basketball Head Coach Gerry “G-Mac” McNamara, for just $7 at all three of its Capital Region locations – over half off the full sandwich’s normal price of $15.
The date for this special savings was “selected” to correspond with when Siena will learn its postseason opponent which will be announced this Sunday beginning at 6 p.m. on CBS6.
The $7 sandwich promotion is in honor of Siena’s seventh MAAC title, which the Saints claimed on Tuesday evening by defeating MAAC Regular Season Champion Merrimack in the title game in Atlantic City, earning them a ticket to March’s biggest stage for the first time since 2010.
Customers can also enter to win a Cardona’s “Winning Snack Pack” catering package to support their at-home viewing party on the day the Saints compete on the national stage. A value of $250, the “Winning Snack Pack” includes 24 of Cardona’s Famous Meatballs in marinara, 12 Arancini with marinara, one half pan of fried mozzarella with marinara, and one half pan of chicken tenders with dipping sauces. Guests can enter to win now through Sunday, March 15 until 11:59 p.m. by Clicking Here. Full details of the giveaway can be found here.
“We congratulate Coach McNamara and Siena Men’s Basketball for capping off a magnificent season with a MAAC Title,” said Cardona’s Market Co-Owner and Executive Chef Robert Cardona, Jr. “As proud supporters and the official caterer of Siena Basketball, we are thrilled to offer a special deal on the delicious “G-Mac”, which has become an overwhelming fan favorite since its launch.”
The G-Mac is a chicken cutlet tossed in Cardona’s Tomato Basil Cream Sauce, topped with field greens, sliced tomato, red onion, banana peppers, provolone and balsamic glaze, and served on a toasted roll. Customers can choose to add the new “zip” to their sandwich, which is made from a house made chili oil infused with chili flakes, shallots, garlic, smoked paprika, and salt and pepper to provide a subtle heat finish when drizzled over the chicken and bread. The “zip” celebrates the nickname of Siena star guard Justice Shoats.
