Cardona’s Market, the official caterer of Siena Basketball, has teamed up with Siena University Athletics to launch “Cardona’s Corner,” an integrated fan-first initiative that combines the excitement of Siena Men’s Basketball with the culinary creativity of the region’s leading family-owned Italian specialty grocer in support of the Saints Alive! Athletic Fund.
Available exclusively at Cardona’s three market locations in Albany, Latham and Saratoga Springs, the package features a large Italian style specialty sandwich named for first-year Siena Men’s Basketball Head Coach Nevada Smith and a ticket to “Cardona’s Corner” at MVP Arena for any men’s regular season home game. The package will be available at Cardona’s Market for just $22 through February 28, 2027, and represents a combined savings of more than 40 percent.
Unveiled and introduced today at Cardona’s Latham Market, the specialty sandwich is named “The NVP” in honor of Siena Head Coach Nevada Smith. The sandwich features mortadella, hot soppressata, prosciutto, provolone, arugula tossed in a hot pepper vinaigrette, roasted red peppers and muffuletta mix.
“The NVP” may be purchased independent of the Cardona’s Corner package throughout the 2026-27 college basketball season. A portion of proceeds from all sandwich sales will benefit Saints Alive!, the fundraising arm of Siena Athletics.

Fans who purchase the Cardona’s Corner package will receive a large NVP sandwich and a voucher that can be redeemed at the MVP Arena Box Office for one ticket to any 2026-27 Siena men’s basketball regular-season home game in Section 115, subject to availability, beginning with the home opener on Sunday, November 8, versus Princeton. The voucher is not valid for a ticket to the men’s pre-season matchup against Syracuse on Sunday, October 18.
Fans who purchase a ticket in Cardona’s Corner will also be eligible during each home game to win a limited-edition Cardona’s Cooler Bundle valued at $150. The co-branded cooler bundle includes four sandwiches; four waters; four chocolate chip cookies; four bags of chips; and a Cardona’s signature salad sampler.
“We want our fans to have a great experience when they come to our games, and Cardona’s Corner gives them another reason to be there. We’re looking forward to seeing that section filled with Siena fans all season long,” said Coach Smith.
Fans may purchase the Cardona’s Corner package at any of Cardona’s three market locations: 340 Delaware Avenue in Albany; 9 Cobbee Road in Latham; or 222 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs. The Albany and Latham markets are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and the Saratoga market is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All three locations are open on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
