Alpin Haus to host collection sites at locations in Amsterdam and Clifton Park

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – Alpin Haus, one of the Northeast’s largest, family-owned outdoor recreation retailers, will participate in collection efforts for the nationally emerging “Goggles for Docs” campaign. The fast-growing initiative is designed to meet the increased need for protective eye wear for front-line healthcare workers during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Alpin Haus will host collection sites at its Clifton Park and Amsterdam locations for skiers, boarders and members of the winter sports community who would like to donate new or used goggles to support the campaign. Drop-off boxes will be located outside the store entrances at 4850 Route 30 in Amsterdam and 22 Clifton Country Road in Clifton Park.

“This a great opportunity for the winter sports community to support the heroes of this ongoing crisis. Skiers and snowboarders, manufacturers and retailers are encouraged to donate their goggles which will be repurposed as protective gear for the front-line caregivers in this battle against the coronavirus,” said Alpin Haus President Andy Heck. “We are honored to do what we can to help the medical community at this critical time.”

All goggles that are donated will be disinfected before being distributed to hospitals. Prospective donors are asked to follow the provided safety guidelines when donating goggles.

Alpin Haus will also donate ski and snowboard goggles from its own inventory.

The Goggles for Docs program is quickly gaining traction among winter sports enthusiasts and celebrities to provide much-needed personal protective equipment to doctors, nurses and healthcare workers at hospitals throughout the county.

Hospitals interested in participating in the Goggles for Docs program can register at the Goggles for Docs website.
