Dunkin’ restaurant in Jersey City celebrates grand reopening with donation to New City Kids

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 402 Grand Street in Jersey City on Thursday, April 30, as part of its grand reopening celebration.

Dunkin’ franchisee Manish Doshi of Doshi South Network commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to New City Kids, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. New City Kids offers faith-based, after-school programming for local youth from under-resourced communities.

“Throughout New City Kids’ 30-year history, our success has depended on partnering with the community,” said New City Kids Executive Director Daymiris Gell. “We appreciate this generous gift from Manish Doshi and Dunkin’. This contribution will play an important role in enhancing programs that inspire, educate, and equip Hudson County youth for success. Together, we’re making a difference.”

The event featured the first 100 people in line at 9 a.m. receiving a free medium Dunkin’ Refresher for 30 days, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise and enjoyed a Dunkin’ photobooth.

Jersey City Mayor James Solomon, Jersey City Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Mira Prinz-Arey and members of the Jersey City Police Department joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The newly remodeled, 2,000 square-foot Dunkin’ employs 28 crew members and is open 24 hours per day.
