2018 MAAC BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS INDIVIDUAL SESSION PASSES ON SALE FEBRUARY 5

Championships return to Times Union Center in Albany, NY, March 1-5

ALBANY, NY; – Individual session passes to the 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will go on sale Monday, February 5. The MAAC Basketball Championships will return to the Times Union Center in Albany, NY, for a record 19th year on March 1-5, 2018.

The popular basketball tournament features teams and schools from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, including Canisius, Fairfield, Iona, Manhattan, Marist, Monmouth, Niagara, Quinnipiac, Rider, Siena and  Saint Peter’s.

“We’re thrilled to offer individual session passes for fans of MAAC basketball who are looking to attend the men’s and women’s tournaments,” said MAAC Commissioner Richard Ensor. “Individual session passes allow fans to attend games for which they have a rooting interest or which hold the most appeal to each of our guests. We invite all fans of college basketball to join us in Albany for the 2018 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships”

Individual session passes grant pass holders access to one of 10 designated sessions during the championships. The men’s and women’s championship games are each sold as an individual session.

Individual session passes for men’s basketball are $18.50, $25, $37.50 and $50. Individual session passes for women’s basketball are $18.50, $25, and $30. Students receive a special rate of $8 for each session with valid student ID.

Flex ticket packages to the MAAC Basketball Championships are also currently available. Flex ticket packages include four tickets redeemable for any open seat during any session of the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships, including both championship games. The tickets may be utilized for four seats to one session, one seat for four sessions, or any ensuing combination to enable fans to tailor the championship experience to meet their needs.

Two sets of flex ticket packages, each comprised of four tickets, are available for this year’s tournament. The first package provides access to any open seat in the center sections during any session for $150. The second package provides access to any open seat in the lower level corners and end zones for $100.

All-session passes are available for fans seeking admission to every single game during the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships. All-session passes are $97, $122, $167 and $227.

Fans are also invited to celebrate the return of the MAAC Championships to downtown Albany at the third annual Hannaford MAAC-n-Cheese Fest on Friday, March 2 at the Albany Capital Center from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The popular fan festival will offer attendees the opportunity to sample gourmet mac-n-cheese dishes from a dozen Albany-area restaurants, as well as numerous craft beer options from regional breweries.

The Hannaford MAAC-n-Cheese Fest will also feature the semi-final round of the inaugural I LOVE NY 3-on-3 MAAC Corporate Basketball Challenge, a tournament-style competition in which local companies will display their hoops prowess.

The teams, each representing local companies and organizations, will be competing for the opportunity to take center court during the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center. The corporate tournament will be run and administered by the Capital District YMCA, which will host the preliminary rounds.

Tickets for the Hannaford MAAC-n-Cheese Fest will go on sale Monday, February 5 at www.albanyfanfest.com. Tickets are $8 and entitle guests to five samples of mac-n-cheese. Tasting tickets will also be available at the door (cash only).

Craft beer tasting tickets will be $5 for three samples and will be available exclusively at the event (must be at least 21 years old with a valid ID).
