MAY IS BLOOMING WITH ACTIVITIES AT STUYVESANT PLAZA

Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premier open-air retail and dining destination, is embracing spring with a series of special events in May to celebrate Mother’s Day and Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage (AAPI) Month.

Guests are invited to enjoy AAPI Heritage Month with three separate activities while a Mother’s Day Social will put Mom in the spotlight on a stroll through Stuyvesant Plaza featuring exclusive promotions from participating retailers and restaurants highlighted by sweet surprises along the way.

“Stuyvesant Plaza is the place to be in May for a variety of engaging and educational events as we recognize and celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “We also invite our guests to treat Mom to a series of fun activities and much-needed retail therapy with our diverse selection of shops and restaurants.”

Events kick off on Thursday, May 1 when the Plaza’s Little Free Library will be stocked with books highlighting AAPI Heritage Month, curated by Stuyvesant Plaza and The Book House. Shoppers can explore the rich cultural contributions and inspiring stories of Asian American and Pacific Islander communities, their achievements, challenges and legacies and the individuals who shaped history and continue to influence the world today. The Little Free Library is located near Simone’s Kitchen.

The AAPI Heritage Month cultural celebration turns its focus to tastebuds on Friday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Two Little Dumplings & Eggcellent on The Lawn. Two Little Dumplings, a local Asian food vendor, and Eggcellent, a local milk and bubble tea vendor, will make a special pop-up appearance to serve guests an assortment of their mouthwatering frozen dumplings, savory sauces, sweet desserts and bubble teas.

The AAPI celebration concludes on Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with Acai & Art: A Colorful Experience within BARE Blends, in partnership with AAPI Heritage Month 518, an all-volunteer, Asian-led initiative which both brings together and celebrates the Asian American community in the Capital Region. Adults and children alike can enjoy a fun and flavorful morning at BARE Blends with two activities:

  • Get Creative – Guests are invited to design their own mini kimono coloring craft;
  • Taste the Tropics – Guests can enjoy a special $10 Beach Bum Bowl, made with refreshing dragon fruit and tropical flavors.

This vibrant morning is the perfect way to wind down AAPI Heritage Month with intention, inspiration and a splash of color. Reservations are requested for this event here.

Meanwhile, Mom will take center stage on Saturday, May 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a Mother’s Day Social that begins on The Lawn. The stylish spring outing will start with a check-in, a free gift and stamp card at The Lawn, the Plaza’s custom-designed green and hardscaped patio space located in front of Jean Paul Spa and Salons.
