Dunkin’ restaurant in West New York commemorates grand reopening with Dvine Konektion Community Development Corporation

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 5915 Bergenline Ave. in West New York on Thursday, June 12 as part of its grand reopening celebration.

Dunkin’ franchisee Pankaj Savaliya of 59 Donut Corp. commemorated the occasion with a $5,000 donation to Dvine Konektion Community Development Corporation in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Dvine Konektion touches the lives of the community by providing non-perishable food items, bags of groceries, hot meals and various medical screenings.

“Dvine Konektion is extremely grateful to Pankaj Savaliya and the Dunkin’ Joy In Childhood Foundation for their timely and generous donation,” said Dvine Konektion Community Development Corporation CEO and Founder Pastor Tania Fuentes. “This grant will be used to introduce a “snack pack” program, a supplemental allocation of kid-friendly foods designed to reduce weekend hunger in children living in food insecure households. The funds will also be used as seed money for our upcoming annual Back-to-School Community Fair, in which free backpacks, school supplies, laptops and snacks are distributed to children in need. Thank you again for helping us in spreading JOY to hundreds of children in our community.”

West New York Mayor Albio Sires; West New York Public Safety Director Henry Codina; and members of the West New York Police Department participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The morning featured the first 50 people in line at 11 a.m. receiving a free medium hot or iced coffee for a year, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise. Additionally, guests celebrated the grand reopening with a single scoop of Baskin-Robbins ice cream for 31 cents, in honor of the brand’s 31 flavors.

The newly remodeled 1,800 square-foot Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins employs 12 crew members and is open 24 hours a day.
