Dunkin’ restaurant in The Bronx commemorates grand reopening with donation to The Breakthrough Fund

Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 4090 Boston Road in the Eastchester neighborhood of The Bronx on Friday, May 23, as part of its grand reopening celebration.

Dunkin’ franchisee Peter Marrinan of TBG Food Acquisition Corp. commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to The Breakthrough Fund, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Founded in 2023 by Jake Allyne and Steve Goodman, The Breakthrough Fund is a nonprofit organization that acts as a funding bridge, covering expenses for health and wellness services, while providing qualifying families with assistance in navigating the government program application process.

“On behalf of The Breakthrough Fund, we extend our heartfelt thanks to TBG Food Acquisition Corp. and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for their generous donation,” said The Breakthrough Fund Executive Director Mark Shearon. “This meaningful contribution will directly support health and wellness programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling access to inclusive and life-changing support services. Their generosity helps us create a more equitable and empowered future for the community we serve.”

Members of Bronx Community Board 12; representatives from the office of New York City Councilman Kevin Riley; and firefighters from FDNY’s Ladder 61 joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The morning featured the first 100 Dunkin’ Rewards members in line at 9 a.m. receiving one free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 consecutive days on the Dunkin’ App, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise and enjoyed music from a DJ.

The newly remodeled 2,600 square-foot Dunkin’ employs 18 crew members and is open 24 hours per-day.
