Cardona’s Market – the family-owned Italian specialty foods market and catering company serving the Capital Region since 1945 – today announced that guests redeemed 322 obsolete gift cards or certificates from recently closed Capital Region delis during its gift card exchange program in March.
Gift cards of any value to the former Schenectady-based Gershon’s Deli; Loudonville’s Genoa Importing Co.; or Primal: Your Local Butcher, previously located in Guilderland and Saratoga Springs, were redeemed at Cardona’s three Capital Region locations for a one-time $25 Cardona’s gift card.
“We never want to see any business close its doors, but wanted to lend a hand to those who were left holding gift cards they could no longer use,” said Cardona’s Market Co-Owner and Executive Chef Robert Cardona, Jr. “We were happy with the enthusiastic response to the gift-card exchange program.”
All gift cards that were exchanged during the monthlong redemption program in March were used for in-store purchases at Cardona’s Market locations.
Cardona’s Market is located at 340 Delaware Avenue in Albany; 9 Cobbee Road in Latham; and 222 Washington Street in Saratoga Springs. The Albany and Latham markets are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the Saratoga market is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All three locations are open Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Cardona’s Market was named 2024 Family Business of the Year by the Albany Business Review and was once again voted Best Caterer of the Capital Region for the fourth consecutive year by Times Union readers.
