Stuyvesant Plaza, the Capital Region’s premier open-air retail destination, is excited to announce a week of fun-filled, family activities during the upcoming April school break from Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10.
“Stuyvesant Plaza will be hopping with festive activities for families who need a much-earned spring break after this relentless winter,” said Stuyvesant Plaza General Manager Rachel Ferluge. “We’re delighted to partner with some of our shops and eateries to host these spring-themed activities. It will be a fun week for families who are planning a staycation during their April Break.”
The five-day celebration kicks off at vineyard vines on Monday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to noon with nautical balloon-twisting by a professional balloon artist. Children can watch the creation of colorful balloon sea creatures during this magical maritime adventure. Grownups can shop for the latest spring and summer must-have looks for the entire family – from bright polos and playful prints to easy, breezy dresses and classic layers. On Tuesday, April 7, Jean Paul Spa & Salons will host Hair Tinsel Tuesday for kids ages 6 and up. During this shimmering event, guests can receive four to six sparkling strands added to their hair in about 10 minutes, for the perfect pop of sparkle. The Book House will feature If You Give a Mouse a Cookie Story Hour on Wednesday, April 8, led by Little Book House Manager Alexis from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. for children aged 2 to 4. A themed cookie from Bountiful Bread, juice box, plates and napkins will be provided for each child, while guests will enjoy a 10 percent discount on all children’s books to help restock their home library collection. On Thursday, April 9, Rowan is hosting a one-day celebration from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. that is equal-parts brave and sweet. Families can stop by for ear-piercings, stylish accessories and a special treat for being brave: Guests will receive a Swedish candy treat bag as a gift with purchase to reward their piercing courage. Friday will feature a Character Pizza Party at Blaze Pizza to wind down the April Break Adventures series from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Guests can enjoy their pizza of choice while spending time with their favorite Polynesian princess and arachnid hero movie characters. Admission is $5 per person, which includes a gift and $1 beverage offer. Lunch will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the April 10 event will benefit the Girls on the Run of the Capital Region, a non-profit organization that provides fun, evidence-based programs that inspire participants to recognize their inner strength, increase their level of physical activity and imagine their possibilities.
