Jewish Family Services and Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York to host special event to honor Holocaust survivors

Holocaust survivors will be honored with a celebratory dinner and program

 WHAT: Jewish Family Services of Northeastern New York (JFS), one of the region’s longest continuously operating human service agencies, in collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Northeastern New York, will host Celebrating Survivors: Their Bravery, Their Sacrifices, Their Lives, a program to honor and support local Holocaust survivors.

 The evening is made possible in partnership with Kavod Shef and Seed the Dream Foundation.

The event will celebrate survivors and their families, their enduring connection to community and the wisdom they carry forward. There are still many living Holocaust survivors who reside in the Capital Region.

Information about the JFS Holocaust Survivor Initiative and generational stories of impact from survivors and their families will be explored during the program. The JFS Holocaust Survivor Initiative provides crucial assistance to Holocaust survivors, ensuring access to vital services and enabling them to maintain their dignity and independence. These services aim to help survivors remain in their homes, receive financial support for essential needs, and connect with community programs.
