Members of the local community and Dunkin’ fans alike poured into Dunkin’s newly remodeled next generation restaurant at 1780 East Gun Hill Road in the Pelham Gardens neighborhood of The Bronx on Wednesday, May 21, as part of its grand reopening celebration.
Dunkin’ franchisee Peter Marrinan of TBG Food Acquisition Corp. commemorated the occasion with a $3,000 donation to The Breakthrough Fund, in conjunction with the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. Founded in 2023 by Jake Allyne and Steve Goodman, The Breakthrough Fund is a nonprofit organization that acts as a funding bridge, covering expenses for health and wellness services, while providing qualifying families with assistance in navigating the government program application process.
“On behalf of The Breakthrough Fund, we extend our heartfelt thanks to TBG Food Acquisition Corp. and the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation for their generous donation,” said The Breakthrough Fund Executive Director Mark Shearon. “This meaningful contribution will directly support health and wellness programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, enabling access to inclusive and life-changing support services. Their generosity helps us create a more equitable and empowered future for the community we serve.”
Representatives from New York State Assemblyman John Zaccaro, Jr.’s office and officers from the New York Police Department’s 49th Precinct joined the celebration and participated in a commemorative ribbon-cutting ceremony.
The morning featured the first 100 Dunkin’ Rewards members in line at 9 a.m. receiving one free medium hot or iced coffee for 100 consecutive days on the Dunkin’ App, while others spun the Dunkin’ prize wheel for free Dunkin’ merchandise and enjoyed music from a DJ.
The newly remodeled 2,400 square-foot Dunkin’ employs 15 crew members and is open daily from 5 a.m. until 8 p.m.
